Have you ever read any book of Gabriel García Marquéz??? Let me tell you that he is my favourite writer. He has written novels like El amor en los tiempos del Cólera, La triste historia de la Cándida Erendira y su abuela desalmada y El coronel no tiene quien le escriba among others but my favourite book is Cien años de Soledad.
This book is about the story of Buendia family and begin when Jose Arcadio and Ursula get married. After a while of being married Jose Arcadio kill to a man named Prudencio Aguilar and his ghost start to follow to Jose Arcadio so he promise to leave the village. This is the way in which Jose Arcadio, Ursula and many others friends of him found Macondo.
Ursula and Jose Arcadio have children named Aureliano, Jose Arcadio and Amaranta. This family is so unusual due to all of them start to date, married and cheet to each other...
Well, I would like to tell you more about this book however I recomend you to read it by yourselves....

I haven't read it, but I haven't heard anything but good reviews of it.
One of my favorite books is "El amor en tiempos del cólera", also by García Márquez. It's so good that it hooks you almost from the very beginning and makes you enjoy, cry, despair, love, with the characters all along the story. Actually, when I finished reading it I didn't want to put it down. I only wanted to turn it over, open it on the first page, and start reading it again.
For me, that's the measure of a great book.
I´ve read that book and I think is fantastic. It´s the story that best describes Latin American people and culture. All the characters, Macondo, the civil wars and all that happend to that people reminds me to México, to all the small villages in the countryside. I love the way García Márquez takes you to that places, you can feel the sunbeam in your face, that tropical humid hot weather on your skin, and the smell of a rural place. I like that books, the ones you can feel in the same place, in the same time that the story you´re reading.
I really recomended it.
